I'm Pete McCormack — writer, filmmaker, musician. I wrote and directed the Oscar short-listed documentary Facing Ali and other award-winning films. I wrote, directed and created a documentary series for HBO called Sports on Fire, I've written produced screenplays, and published three novels (including recently, the Amazon #1 YA bestseller My Last Friends on Earth) and two books about the creative process—and written and recorded many songs.

 

I've written and been paid—and I've written because I need to. I've been prolific, I've been unsure, I've been ignored and I've been celebrated.
 

It's all more-or-less the same.

 

I've spent my life inside creative work and I know what it takes to start, keep going, and finish.
